Gusty evening with sharply colder temperatures returning

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — As the threat of severe weather moves out of central Indiana, strong winds and colder temperatures move in.

Thursday:

The severe weather threat has moved out of central Indiana. A strong cold front pushing through will create wind gusts in excess of 50 mph at times through much of the evening.

Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 p.m. Thursday night.

Temperatures will fall quickly this evening, diving into the lower 40s for the overnight.

Friday:

Cloudy conditions, colder temperatures and blustery winds will bring a raw feel to the end of our workweek. Some light scattered showers can’t be ruled out as well. Temperatures will hold in the lower 40s for much of the day.

Weekend forecast:

Overall a quiet but chilly March weekend is on tap. Winds should settle down quite a bit. Expect mostly sunny conditions with highs in the lower to middle 40s both days.

Eight-day forecast:

There will not be much recovery in the temperatures department for the start of the workweek. Highs will hold in the middle 40s, running about five degrees below average for mid-March. We should see a bounce back by midweek, as highs return to near 50 by Wednesday with a chance for scattered showers.
