‘Hangry’ and ‘awesomesauce’ among new Oxford words

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Oxford Dictionaries has added another round of new words.

It’s a branch of Oxford that focuses on modern language, separate from the Oxford English Dictionary.

Some of the new words include:

• Awesomesauce – an adjective meaning extremely good or excellent.
• Hangry – bad-tempered or irritable as a result of hunger.
• Butt dial – inadvertently making a call on a mobile phone in one’s rear trouser pocket
• Beer o’clock – an appropriate time of day for starting to drink beer.
