Animals contracting COVID-19 and ethical research
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A North Carolina pug is the first known dog diagnosed with the coronavirus.
On Wednesday, WISH-TV’s medical reporter, Dr. Mary Gillis, D.Ed., discussed while there is currently no evidence to support animals contract the virus, research typically lags behind.
Gillis discussed the importance of anecdotal evidence, how ethical scientists build a body of research before making official COVID-19 statement in briefings and why this often causes confusion among the public.
