Healthcare workers having difficulty coping with pandemic, at risk for suicide

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – There’s been an increase in suicide amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Not only among the public, but also among healthcare workers.

On Tuesday, WISH-TV’s medical reporter, Dr. Mary Gillis, D.Ed., discussed the suicide death of a prominent New York City ER doctor.

Gillis also talked about the difficulties these workers face in terms of coping, stress relief and grief–possibly driving one to take his or her own life.
