Heat and humidity return, minimal rain chances into the weekend

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH)– Heat and humidity return to the area with very little rain chances to cool us off until next week.

Good Thursday evening! We finally made it back to near average today with high temperatures topping out in the low 80s across the state.

Over the next several days, the heat and humidity will once again be on the rise with high temperatures around 90° by the weekend.

TONIGHT:

A nice night is on tap with temperatures cooling off into the mid to low 70s by 10 pm. We should remain dry with just the chance for a very isolated shower, particularly in our northwest counties.

Low temperatures will bottom out in the upper 60s here in the metro with outlying spots heading for the low to mid 60s.

TOMORROW:

It should be a nice start to the day tomorrow as you make your way to work and school. Temperatures will start out in the low 70s around 8 am and head into the mid 80s by the afternoon.

There is an isolated chance for a shower or two for the commute home, but I think most of us should have a decent amount of dry time.

High temperatures will top out in the upper 80s for most of the state.

WEEKEND FORECAST:

The weekend looks mostly dry with a chance for a spotty shower or two, especially into the afternoon hours. High temperatures will be near 90° with “feels like” temperatures in the mid to upper-90s. Make sure to wear loose-fitting clothing and pack lots of water for any outdoor activities.

EXTENDED FORECAST:

The heat and humidity return heading into the weekend with most of us staying dry and hot. Better rain chances work back in for Monday and Tuesday of next week, with Tuesday being the best chance for widespread rain. Temperatures will remain hot into the beginning of next week before we cool off into the low 80s starting Tuesday.
