Hero puppy takes rattlesnake bite to save owner
ARIZONA (WFLA/CNN) – A puppy is being hailed a hero after saving his owner from a rattlesnake in Arizona.
Paula Goodwin says she got up early Friday morning to go for a hike with her two dogs when she nearly stepped on the snake.
Her golden retriever Todd, who is less than a year old, jumped into action and moved in front of her leg to prevent the snake from biting her.
Instead, the rattlesnake bit Todd in the face. Photos taken after the hike show the dog’s swollen face.
If Todd hadn’t jumped in front of her, Goodwin says she would have been bitten.
The brave puppy is expected to make a full recovery.
