High-heel ‘Crocs’ shoes selling out, but why?

TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — The latest style trend is leaving some folks online looking for answers.

Crocs, the rubberized shoe brand, are now available in a high heel version.

On the Crocs website, the ‘Cyprus V Heel’ is described as “a pair of casual and comfortable heels and wedges.”

The brand, known for comfort and function, is now sparking a controversy on social media because users can’t understand why people would want to wear these.

One woman said, “What do I do when my best friend asks how we think they look with our bridesmaid’s dresses?”

Another Twitter post is questioning if this is the end of the world?

While many mocked, others are laughing all the way to the bank.

The shoes have sold out online for around $50 and resellers on Amazon are offering them for more than 200 bucks a pop.

That’s a lot of cash for a presumably odd fashion trend.
