Hot and humid with chances for showers through Sunday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Rain returns to the forecast Wednesday night with showers and isolated downpours mainly north and west.

Wednesday night:
After a hot and humid day, warm and muggy conditions will continue into the night.

Isolated storms will bring heavy downpours, gusty winds and frequent lightning for ares mainly north. Most of central Indiana will remain dry.

Thursday:
Prepare for heat and humidity in the afternoon. Expect the warmest air of the year as we could see our first 90-degree day. As temperatures warm to near 90, prepare for heat index values in the low 90s. We can’t rule out a few isolated showers in the evening.

Friday:
The warmest stretch of the year will continue with another 90-degree day. Stay hydrated as it will feel much warmer; expect heat index values in the mid-90s. We will see the chance of a few spotty showers in the evening.

8 day forecast:
The heat and the humidity will stick around this weekend. Prepare for the 90s on both Saturday and Sunday. There is a slight chance for a few isolated showers Saturday with a better chance of scattered showers and storms Sunday. We will remain dry for most of the weekend.
