Hot temperatures Tuesday; storms return Wednesday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Another hot & humid day on tap for Tuesday.  Storms arrive Wednesday, bringing some relief from the high heat.

Tonight:

Muggy conditions continue this evening, with heat indices still holding near 90° through the 8 pm hour.  Expect a clear and humid night, with lows in the lower 70s.

Tuesday:

Another hot day with mostly sunny to partly cloudy conditions.  Highs top out in the lower 90s.

Wednesday:

A cold front will dive down from the northwest, sparking scattered to numerous showers and storms across central Indiana.  Severe storms are possible, but not expected to be widespread.  Much of central Indiana is in a marginal risk for severe storms – with hail and damaging winds the primary concerns.

Highs should make a run to the middle 80s Wednesday afternoon.

8-day forecast:

Some brief relief from the heat comes in behind Wednesday’s cold front, as highs only hit the upper 70s Thursday afternoon.  Temperatures rebound back to the middle 80s for Friday into the holiday weekend.  Isolated to scattered storm chances return to the forecast starting Saturday, and continue through the start of the new work week, Tuesday.  As of now, rain chances don’t look widespread, so there should be plenty of dry time in between rain chances for the extended weekend.
