Hundreds of kids compete in NFL flag football tournament at Colts complex

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Hundreds of kids took over the Colts practice facility for the NFL Flag Tournament for a chance to play in the Pro Bowl.

There are four age brackets in the tournament: 9-10 year-old co-eds, 11-12 year-old co-eds, 13-14 year-old girls teams and 13-14 year-old boys teams.

The winning team in each bracket will get to go to the NFL Pro Bowl in Orlando January 26-29.

The tournament is coordinated by USA Football and the Indianapolis Colts and includes players from Indiana, Virginia, Michigan, Florida, Texas, Massachusetts, Ohio, Missouri, Kentucky, Wisconsin, Maryland and Tennessee.

Several other NFL teams are holding similar regional tournaments.

About 350,000 kids across the country participate in USA Football’s NFL Flag. It’s a non-contact game, and their goal is to promote physical fitness and teach values and life skills on and off the field.

The tournament went from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
