Hunter’s body recovered from northeastern Indiana lake
ROME CITY, Ind. (AP) – Authorities are investigating the possible drowning of a hunter in northeastern Indiana.
Conservation officers say 25-year-old Shannon Bostick of LaGrange was waterfowl hunting on Waldron Lake when his canoe capsized Friday morning. The Kendallville News-Sun reports his body was recovered about six hours later.
Noble County Sheriff Doug Harp a caller reported hearing a gunshot, then saw the canoe in the water. He says a hunting dog was found in the area but it wasn’t clear whether the dog had been in the water.
Waldron Lake is part of the four-lake West Lakes chain about 30 miles northwest of Fort Wayne.
