I-65 north of Indy reduced to 1 lane starting Monday
TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WLFI) – A patching and resurfacing project will close one lane of traffic on Interstate 65 throughout three counties.
The Indiana Department of Transportation said I-65 will be reduced to one lane between U.S. 52 in Boone County to three miles north of State Road 43 in Tippecanoe County.
Crews will restrict both north and southbound traffic to one 11-foot lane in each direction in the area they will be working.
Work will begin Monday at 7 p.m. and continue until 6 a.m. Tuesday.
Officials said crews will work overnight hours as to minimize the impact to travelers.
INDOT officials added the majority of work to be done this year will be in the Lafayette area, according to WISH-TV sister station WLFI News.
The patching and resurfacing project was awarded to Rieth-Riley Construction for $12.1 million.
The project is scheduled for completion by May 30.
