Reward offered after more than a dozen semis set on fire
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Crews were battling a number of semi fires on the city’s south side, according to the Indianapolis Fire Department.
IFD was called to 1400 block of Harding Court just before 3:30 a.m.
IFD says 14 semis, three dump trucks and three other vehicles were on fire just off the I-465 and Harding Street exit.
The fires have since been put out at the M & K Center and the last of the crews left the scene around 7:15 a.m.
IFD says the fires are arson and caused more than $1 million in damages.
M&K Truck Center issued this statement:
“It is devastating that this intentional arson occurred on our property today. We are grateful that there were no personal injuries and for the rapid response of the fire department. M&K Truck Centers and our customers have suffered significant loss of property including 12 commercial vehicles that are a total loss and 7 others that sustained significant damage. We are working with the authorities to find the people responsible for this crime. In addition to the Crime Stoppers reward M&K Truck Centers is offering a $30,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for the arson.”
