IFD rescues man from 35 feet below ground
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – A man was rescued after mechanical problems trapped him 35 feet below ground.
He was working with a three man crew from Indy Water Solutions. They were emptying a sewage pipe.
According to IFD, Jared Britt had been going up and down the pipe every 10 minutes.
Around 6 p.m. the crane stopped working and the crew realized they needed help.
Britt was stuck at the bottom of a sewer pipe.
Britt was unharmed in the bottom of the pipe and was able to be lifted out with when firefighters used a wench and belay system.
He was out of the hole within three minutes. He was treated and released at the scene.
