Ikea breaks ground on new store in Fishers

FISHERS, Ind. (WISH) – City and state officials and Ikea representatives broke ground on the future Ikea store in Fishers on Tuesday.

The store will be along Interstate 69, just south of 116th Street in Fishers.

Fishers Mayor Scott Fadness, Congressswoman Susan Brooks, and Lt. Gov. Eric Holcomb were in attendance.

According to Ikea, the 289,000 square foot, $40 million store will feature nearly 10,000 exclusively designed items, three model home interiors, 50 room settings and a supervised children’s play area.

The store is expected to open next fall.
