INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — UPDATE: Authorities have identified the woman who was found dead in an alley Thursday morning.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as 32-year-old Raquel Woodard.
She died from gunshot wounds, authorities say.
The investigation into her death is ongoing.
Homicide detectives will be investigating after police and medics on Thursday morning found a woman dead in an alley.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers were called shortly before 9 a.m. Thursday to a report of a person shot in the 1000 block of West 36th Street.
The Marion County Coroner’s Office will determine the cause and manner of death. The office will release the woman’s name after next of kin are notified.
Police provided no additional information on the case in a news release.
