IMPD investigating body found on southeast side

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – IMPD is investigating a body found on the southeast side of Indianapolis early Friday morning.

Police say a body was found on the Troy Avenue bridge near Senour Road and Kitley Road around 12:45 a.m.

They are conducting a death investigation. IMPD detectives are treating the case as a homicide.

The Marion County Corner has identified the body, but the coroner is working to notify the next of kin before releasing the victim’s name.

Police have released no details on how the woman died. Those that live near creek were surprised to learn about the shocking discovery.

“I was just surprised, I didn’t know what to think, this is such a nice area and a nice neighborhood, we moved here in October,” said resident Tim Latimer.
