UPDATE: The Marion County Coroner’s Office has identified the man who was found dead in a vehicle on the city’s near northwest side as Alfonso Leonardo Gomez Martinez.

A cause of death has not been determined at this time.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — Police are investigating a death on the city’s near northwest side.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department was called to the 1200 block of West 36th Street just after 8 a.m. Friday.

IMPD officers found a vehicle in the alley behind a home with an unresponsive adult male inside. The male was pronounced dead at the scene.

Homicide investigators were called to the scene to collect evidence and speak to potential witnesses.

No victim or suspect information has been released. It is unclear at this time what caused the man’s death.
