INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The male victim in an east-side shooting Wednesday morning has died, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department said.
The shooting happened in the 7200 block of East 35th Street just before noon. Officers arrived to the scene and found the man in critical condition.
Witnesses said the victim was in a vehicle when a suspect in another vehicle shot him.
The man was transported to Eskenazi Hospital where he later died of his injuries. His identity has not yet been released.
Authorities believe the shooting was an isolated incident. They are urging anyone with information to contact the IMPD Homicide Office at 317-327-3475 or Crime Stoppers of Central Indiana at 317-262-8477.
One person is in critical condition after being shot on the city’s east side.
The male victim in his 20s was shot in the head about 11:50 a.m. in the 7200 block of East 35th Street.
The victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.
Police said officers arriving at the scene encountered a large crowd that was uncooperative.
No further victim or possible suspect information has been released.
Homicide detectives are on scene investigating.
