IMPD: North side shooting was drug deal gone bad

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department is investigating after a person was shot on the city’s north side.

IMPD said the call came in around 11:30 a.m. Tuesday. They believe the shooting was the result of a drug deal gone bad.

Officers responded to the 800 block of Fox Hill Drive. That’s near Fox Hill Elementary School. The Orchard School, a private also nearby, was on lockdown for about 30 minutes until just about noon.

IMPD said at least three people were involved, including the victim. They say the suspects began shooting from a car at the victim’s car. The victim was hit and taken to the hospital in stable condition.

At this time police are still talking to witnesses and the victim to get a description of the suspect’s car and the suspects inside.

No other information has been made available.
