IMPD officer facing perjury, obstruction charges
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An officer with the Indianapolis Police Department was arrested Thursday.
45-year-old Michael Hill surrendered to police after a warrant was issued for his arrest Thursday.
According to the release, he is accused of submitting false paperwork in his name to the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles.
The paperwork contained a false certificate of Title and Bill of Sale for the purchase of a truck and boat.
He signed papers that indicated selling prices for the vehicles that were less than the actual purchase price. Police say he also supplied false documents on the sale to investigators.
He faces preliminary charges of perjury, obstruction of justice and delivery of a false sales document, all level 6 felonies.
Hill has been with IMPD for 17 years. He was immediately suspended without pay.
