IMPD: Person shot in the back on Indy’s east side
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Police are investigating after a person was found shot on the east side of the city early Wednesday morning, Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officials said.
The victim was found shot in the 600 block of North Dearborn Street around 4:40 a.m. This is near East Michigan and North Rural streets.
The initial report was that a person had been stabbed but police confirmed the victim suffered a gunshot wound to the back.
That person was taken to an Indianapolis hospital. Their condition wasn’t immediately clear.
Police did not have suspect information available around 5 a.m.
