Inappropriate images surface online of Zionsville high school students, alumni

ZIONSVILLE, Ind. (WISH) – Police are investigating after someone posted inappropriate pictures of Zionsville students and recent alumni to a website.

A release sent to parents by the Zionsville Community School District explained that on April 2, Zionsville Community High School’s principal was alerted to a website they said contained “compromising photos” of current students and recent ZCHS alumni.

The school district said investigators are working to contact parents whose students may be shown in the images.

It’s not clear who posted the images to the website.

The school district said police haven’t confirmed where the images came from or if any students were involved in the distribution.

Meanwhile, the school district says students will keep receiving information about internet safety.

They reminded parents in the release to discuss the consequences with their child of taking or sending these types of photos.

They also told parents to monitor their child’s electronic devices and to remind students of the legal implications of posting images that could be considered child pornography.

Police said the investigating is ongoing.

Anyone with information should contact Zionsville Police Detective Samuelson at 317-873-5967.
