Independence Day celebrations canceled or postponed due to rain
WHITESTOWN, Ind. (WISH) – The rainy and stormy forecast for most of central Indiana is beginning to affect area celebrations and firework displays.
The third annual Whitestown fireworks display and Independence Day celebration, originally scheduled for July 3, has been postponed due to the impending wet weather. The celebration has been rescheduled for Friday July 8.
Also, Beech Grove’s All American Day in the Park and fireworks has been postponed. A makeup date has yet to be set.
The city of Franklin’s Firecracker Festival has been postponed as well.
Indiana Grand Racing and Casino has also postponed its 4th of July celebration.The festivities will now take place July 9 beginning at 6 p.m., with an 8 pm. performance by the Jai Baker Band. A 35-minute fireworks show will begin at dusk.
The Southport July 4th Parade and Festival set for Monday has been canceled. It will not be rescheduled.
Chesterfield’s fireworks show planned for Sunday evening has been canceled.
