Indiana American Red Cross holds groundbreaking ceremony
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – The Indiana headquarters of the American Red Cross held the groundbreaking ceremony for their new headquarters at 1550 North Meridian Street on Wednesday.
The new building will make it possible for the Indianapolis Fire Department headquarters and fire station seven to move to the current American Red Cross headquarters on 10th Street.
“This allows us to create a site to support the work of the red cross that is the right size and really geared for the 21st century,” said John Lyter, Indiana American Red Cross CEO.
The new building will cost $8 million and construction is hoped to be completed by the end of the year.
