Indiana ID theft prevention bill moves out of committee
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Senate Bill 413 which requires safer storage of Hoosiers’ personal information moved from Senate committee on Tuesday to be voted on by the entire Indiana Senate.
The bill is timely after break downs in safeguards regarding consumer data at retailers such as Target, Home Depot and DSW. Anthem is the latest company that has had Hoosier consumer information breached.
Indiana Attorney General Greg Zoeller recommended the bill and it passed with a 10-0 vote.
