Indiana man picking up friend from jail gets arrested for drugs during traffic stop
VERMILLION COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – A Tuesday afternoon traffic stop in Vermillion County turned into a drug arrest.
Authorities said they clocked 18-year-old Andrew Christopher Gross going 70 miles per hour in in a 60 mile per hour zone.
When an Indiana State Police Trooper pulled him over, the officer smelled what he believed to be marijuana coming from the vehicle.
A K-9 unit that arrived on the scene moments later confirmed the officers suspicions, which led to the finding of four grams of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
Gross was charged with a preliminary count of possession of marijuana and another for possession of drug paraphernalia.
Gross was reportedly on his way to the Vermillion County Jail to pick up a friend who was recently released from incarceration.
