WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. (WISH) — One person has died following a three-vehicle crash in West Lafayette Thursday afternoon, Tippecanoe County Sheriff’s Office said.

The crash happened near US Highway 52 West and West 500 North in West Lafayette around 3:45 p.m.

Authorities said a Ford Crown Victoria traveling westbound attempted to turn left onto W. 500 N. when it was struck by an eastbound Toyota Avalon. A third vehicle, a Dodge Ram, was stopped on W. 500 N. when it was struck in the front bumper after the initial collision.

A female passenger in the Crown Victoria was taken to IU Health Arnett Hospital where she later died from her injuries.

The drivers of the Crown Victoria and the Avalon were transported to Franciscan STE Hospital with non-life threating injuries. The driver of the truck was not injured.

The identities of the crash victims have not yet been released.
