14-year-old boy missing from Corydon is found dead

LATEST: Jacob McCarty and his dog have been found dead. Officers search an area along I-64 where McCarty had been seen and found the boy and the dog Tuesday, authorities said. The cause of death will be released after an autopsy is completed.

CORYDON, Ind. (WISH) — The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help finding a missing 14-year-old boy from Corydon.

Jacob McCarty was last seen at his residence around 11:15 a.m. Tuesday, according to a post on the department’s Facebook page.

Police say McCarty is 5 feet, 4 inches tall, weighing 200 pounds with shoulder-length black hair and brown eyes. He may be wearing red Nike shoes.

McCarty’s dog, a German Shephard named Isabella, is also missing. She may be wearing a turquoise harness.
