2 killed in Wells County crash after SUV crosses centerline

BLUFFTON, Ind. (WISH) — Two people were killed in a crash on State Road 124 in Wells County on Wednesday afternoon.

Indiana State Police say the crash occurred around 2:19 p.m. near County Road 700 East.

ISP says Jacqueline Cerna Espinoza ran off of State Road 124, over-corrected, crossed the center line and crashed into a vehicle driven by 52-year-old Brian Stoner.

Stoner and Espinoza were pronounced dead. They were the only people in the vehicles.

Police say alcohol and drugs are not suspected to be factors in the crash.

Note: Indiana State Police initially said it was Stoner who ran off the side of the road. This article has been updated with new information from Indiana State Police.
