2 Terre Haute teens arrested for arson

TERRE HAUTE, Ind. (WISH) — A 13-year-old and a 14-year-old were arrested after allegedly setting fire to a house in Terre Haute, Indiana State Police said Thursday.

According to police, officers responded to a residence in the 1100 block of North Pointer Street on Sept. 23 on reports of a house fire.

Upon arrival, police were informed that the residence was abandoned and had no electricity, which led investigators to suspect arson.

Witnesses said that they saw two boys running from the residence moments before they saw the smoke.

Further investigation revealed that the two teens had broken into the house, damaged property inside and then set the fire.

The two boys face preliminary charges of arson, burglary, criminal mischief resulting in at least $50,000 in damage and criminal trespass.
