WARREN, Ind. (WANE) – A two-vehicle crash on Interstate 69 briefly closed the interstate in both directions.

Police and medics were called around 9:30 a.m. Friday to the 281 mile marker, five miles south of Markle. Two vehicles collided in the area when one vehicle reportedly crossed the median and struck an oncoming vehicle in the northbound lanes.

Two medical helicopters were called to the scene, state police said.

Interstate 69 was closed in both directions. A southbound lane was closed to allow the medical helicopters to land. One of those southbound lanes was reopened just before 10 a.m.
