Authorities investigating after 2 men found dead at Scottsburg home

SCOTTSBURG, Ind. (WISH) — An investigation is underway after two men were found dead at a home in Scottsburg early Sunday morning, Indiana State Police said.

Officers with the Scottsburg Police Department were dispatched to a home in the Scott Villa Mobile Home Trailer Park at 815 W. Lake Road just after midnight Sunday after neighbors heard shots fired in the area.

When officers arrived they discovered Larry Marlowe, 34, of Scottsburg, dead from a gunshot wound at the entrance of the home on Lot 21.

Authorities said 29-year-old Michael Jones, the homeowner of Lot 21, called police and said he shot the man who he said was trying to get into his home.

Jones then locked himself inside his home and would not respond to officers. Officers entered the home after a search warrant was obtained and found Jones dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Indiana State Police detectives are leading the death investigation.
