INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Hoosier Lottery officials announced the lucky winners of an $18.7 million Hoosier Lotto jackpot Friday.
Dena Wright and Dan Gresham of Chesterton were introduced as the winners at a press conference at Hoosier Lottery headquarters.
The couple moved to Chesterton from Arizona about a year and a half ago to be near their grandchildren. They said they plan to send their grandchildren to college with the winnings.
Wright had two jobs before the news, but is now down to one. She quit her job as a server but plans to continue working in real estate.
Gresham gave notice to his employer that he was retiring from his job as an automotive transmission technician.
The winning ticket came from Red Carpet Smoke Shop, 1457 Broadway in Chesterton.
They had the choice of receiving $18.7 million as a 30-year annuity or the payment of $11.6 million, before taxes. They chose to take payment as a annuity over 30 years and received their first installment of $333,000, before taxes, Friday.
The June 13 Hoosier Lotto numbers were: 1-18-22-30-34-42.
