Indiana man arrested in death of wife

NEW HAVEN, Ind. (WANE) — An arrest has been made in the death of a woman found in a New Haven home early Thursday morning.

Wiley Brown, 26, has been arrested and booked into Allen County Lockup on a charge of murder.

New Haven Police said Brown went into the New Haven Police Department’s lobby and declared that he had killed his wife. Police gathered his address and went to the home to investigate a possible homicide.

Around 2:30 a.m., police arrived at the home at 1924 Medford Dr. There, officers found a woman who appeared to have suffered head trauma, according to New Haven Police. She was pronounced dead at the scene.  

The victim was identified later by the Allen County Coroner’s Office as 24-year-old Courtney Marie Brown. An autopsy found that Brown died of a gunshot wound to the head and her death was ruled a homicide.

It’s not clear what led up to Brown’s death. No other information was released.
