Indiana man who killed wife with machete sentenced to 50 years
FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) – A Fort Wayne man was sentenced to 50 years in prison Thursday for the killing of his wife back in May.
Julio Rodriguez told investigators he accidentally cut her neck with a machete while the two were having an argument.
Lucia Aviles Segura, 41, died on May 30. Her body was found in the basement of a home on Baxter Street.
Rodriguez was charged with murder and in November he pleaded guilty as part of a plea deal that called for a 50 year sentence.
