Inmate dies at St. Joseph County Jail after being found unresponsive
SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WISH) — Indiana State Police are investigating after an inmate at the St. Joseph County Jail died Sunday afternoon.
ISP said Monday 33-year-old Joseph Valentine, of South Bend, was found unresponsive in a cell by jail staff at approximately 1:05 p.m. Sunday. He died less than half an hour later.
Valentine was in the cell alone, according to police.
No further information about Valentine’s death was provided.
An autopsy is scheduled for Tuesday.
