Mother creates email address for daughter to learn about father, fallen ISP trooper

TIPPECANOE COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – The wife of a fallen Indiana State Police trooper made an email account for her daughter’s first birthday and she wants you to send her a message.

Peter ‘Bo’ Stephan died in an October in a crash, he was on his way to help another trooper.

Harper Stephan turns one in May. It will not only be her first birthday but the start of birthdays without her dad.

Her mother, Jessica, doesn’t want the circumstances to keep Harper from knowing who her father was or how much he was appreciated.

After she posted the email address harper.stephan19@gmail.com on social media, she thought only people in Peter’s local law enforcement family in Tippecanoe County would respond.

Messages started pouring in from everywhere. An officer from Australia even sent Harper an email.

Now she hopes even people who didn’t know her husband personally will send messages.

Jessica added the stay at home order is a good time to make a call or send a letter you’ve been meaning to send. She hopes her idea will inspire others to do something kind, not just for her family but for anyone.

Jessica will leave the email address up and let Harper read the messages when she’s old enough.
