Paper straw maker hiring for new Fort Wayne plant

FORT WAYNE, Ind. (WANE) — The original U.S. producer of paper straws plans to hire 70 workers to staff its new manufacturing plant in Fort Wayne.

Aardvark Straws said in a news release Monday that it would hire up to 70 manufacturing jobs over the next three months, with 30 jobs to be filled immediately. The positions – straw winders, wrappers, and material handlers – will be based at Aardvark’s new 100,000-square-foot manufacturing facility at 7310 Innovation Blvd. in Fort Wayne, which opened in February.

Aardvark was acquired by Hoffmaster Group in August 2018 as the demand for paper straws grew. Aardvark is on track to increase its manufacturing capacity by 700 percent by the end of 2019, the company said.

Those interested in applying for a job can visit the Careers page at aardvarkstraws.com or by clicking here. Aardvark Straws will schedule 30-minute interviews with qualified candidates on Tuesday, April 16 and Wednesday, April 17.
