WARSAW, Ind. (WISH) — The parents of an Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officer killed in the line of duty donated three vests for the K-9 division of the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, the sheriff’s office announced Wednesday.

Kosciusko County native Rod Bradway died while saving a domestic violence victim and her 10-month-old child on Sept. 20, 2013.

His parents, Sheri and Tom, approached Kosciusko County Sheriff Kyle Dukes earlier this year about buying vests specifically for the dogs.

Bradway’s mother also formed A Quilt for Mother’s Tears with her quilter’s group, which provides quilts to the mothers of fallen law enforcement officers.
