Silver Alert canceled for missing Carmel man

UPDATE

The Silver Alert for Ted D. Merkley was canceled at 10 p.m. Friday.

Authorities said Merkley was found dead in Indianapolis. 

No other details surrounding Merkley’s death have been released.

CARMEL, Ind. (WISH) — The Carmel Police Department has issued a Silver Alert for a missing Carmel man. 

Police say Ted Merkley, 57, of Carmel, was last seen at 4 p.m. Thursday. Merkley was described as being 5-feet-11 inches and 160 pounds. He has brown hair and green eyes.

He was last seen wearing a gray zip-up hooded sweatshirt, jeans and slip-on shoes. 

Merkley drives a gray 2007 Lincoln Navigator with Indiana plate 568RBQ.

Police say Merkley is believed to be in danger and may need medical assistance.
