Statewide Silver Alert canceled for missing 53-year-old man

The Jay County Sheriff’s Office said Tuesday afternoon that Robert Currie has been found safe.

PORTLAND, Ind. (WISH) – A Statewide Silver Alert has been issued for a missing 53-year-old Jay County man, according to the Indiana State Police.

State police said Robert Currie was last seen in Portland, Indiana on about 8 p.m. Saturday.

Currie is described as a white male, 5-feet-7 and 185 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes.

At the time of his disappearance, Currie was wearing a blue windbreaker jacket, a plaid shirt and blue jeans. He also has several tattoos on his chest, back, arms and knees.

Police believe Currie is driving a red 2002 Kia Sportage SUV with Indiana license plate XTJ552.

Currie is thought to be in extreme danger and may require medical attention, officers say.
