Indiana wins four medals at 2016 World Beer Cup competition
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – This past weekend was the “Olympics” of the brewery world.
The 2016 World Beer Cup had over 1,900 breweries worldwide and entered over 6,500 beers.
The World Beer Cup competition is held every two years. The awards for the competition were presented by the Brewer’s Association on Friday, May 6, after the 2016 Craft Brewer’s Conference in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
In Indiana, Bier Brewery won two of the four medals :
- Gold in category 61: Belgian-Style Dubbel or Quadruple for their Sanitarium, Belgian-Style Quadruple
- Gold in category 70: Extra Special Bitter for their ESB, English-Style Extra Special Bitter
Bier Brewery is an elite company for winning a World Beer Cup medal. In the past they have won a silver medal, three Great American Beer Festival medals, plus 55 Indiana Brewers Cup medals since their opening in 2010.
