Indianapolis business owner honored at Silver Sneaker Ball

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — An Indianapolis business owner was honored this weekend for her work with a camp for kids with special respiratory needs.

The 2019 Silver Sneaker Benefit Ball, held Saturday night downtown, raises money for Champ Camp, a summer program that gives kids with tracheostomies or other respiratory issues the chance to enjoy outdoor activities while developing confidence and independence.

People who attend the black tie event must wear sneakers as a nod to the spirit of the camp.

Amanda Parker of Collective Alternative received the Darrell Gosset Award on Saturday, as recognition of her dedication to the Champ Camp organization through volunteer hours and marketing improvements.
