Indianapolis man arrested in Gibson County for marijuana DUI

GIBSON COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) – An Indianapolis man was arrested by police yesterday for driving under the influence of marijuana in Gibson County.

Indiana State Police stopped the driver of a maroon Oldsmobile mini-van for speeding ten miles over the posted speed limit along US 41.

The police officer present reported smelling a strong odor of marijuana when he approached the car.

When police searched the vehicle, they reported finding over 20 grams of marijuana and paraphernalia.

The driver of the van was identified as 18-year-old James Young, of Indianapolis.

Young was taken to Gibson General Hospital in Princeton, where he was found to be under the influence of marijuana, and then he was transported to the Gibson County Jail.

Young is being held on bond, as of Saturday morning.

Two other passengers in the van were cited for possession of marijuana and released, according to police.
