Indianapolis teen dies in Greenfield crash

HANCOCK COUNTY, Ind. (WISH) — A 17-year-old Indianapolis girl died after she was thrown from a car during a crash in Greenfield Thursday night.

Police said Savannah Land was not wearing a seat belt when the car she was riding in ran a stop sign and collided with another vehicle at the intersection of county roads 200N and 600W, according to 24-Hour News 8 partner The Daily Reporter. It happened just before 8:30 p.m.

Land was ejected from the car and taken to IU Health Methodist Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Police said she was a passenger in the car heading south on County Road 600W when it hit a vehicle southbound on County Road 200N. The driver of Land’s vehicle was not injured.

The other vehicle’s driver was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries.
