Indy apartment complex ups security after string of crimes
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – An Indianapolis apartment complex held a meeting for its residents on Monday to discuss a string of recent crimes that have happened on the property.
According to the Summerwood on Town Line Apartments, between Jan. 23 and Feb. 10, residents were victimized by crimes including an abduction, an attempted sexual assault, two robberies and five break-ins.
The apartment complex is located near 86th Street and Township Line Road.
Management says they have been cooperating with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department during their follow up investigations.
Since the crimes have occurred, the apartments have taken several measures to increase security on the property. Officers are currently providing foot and driving patrols and will chaperone anyone who asks them to respond.
The apartment complex also says sometime in the near future they will offer self-defense training. They’ve also arranged a Crime Watch meeting with IMPD.
