Indy bakery owner says it’s ‘so 2020’ after HVAC units stolen
INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A theft of HVAC units from an Indianapolis bakery this week has left its owners searching for the people responsible.
Two HVAC units were stolen from the roof of Taylor’s Bakery overnight Tuesday. That’s located at 6216 Allisonville Rd. on the city’s northeast side.
Taylor’s Bakery co-owner Drew Allen said his business wasn’t the only one hit by the thefts. Another HVAC unit was stolen from the Dollar General next door and two other HVAC units were taken from the building.
“It’s been such a rough year, and we’re finally back on our feet and we’ve got take-out orders and all of a sudden our building is warm,” said Allen. “It’s maddening.”
Photos of where the units were stolen from and a possible suspect vehicle were posted on the bakery’s Facebook page. The bakery also shared surveillance footage of a person they suspect was involved in the theft.
“It’s so 2020 to have your HVAC units stolen,” the bakery said in the post.
A police report was filed with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department. Anyone with information about the theft should call the police.
