Indy, Muncie on 2-hour delay Wednesday

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) – Mayor Ballard issued a yellow travel advisory starting Tuesday at 10 p.m. All city government offices will also operate on a 2-hour delay Wednesday and Thursday.

According to the Indiana Department of Homeland Security, a yellow advisory is defined as follows:

  • “The lowest level of local travel advisory.  Yellow means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation, and individuals should use caution or avoid those areas.”

The Department of Public Works will also suspend trash collection Wednesday and possibly Thursday, depending on temperatures. When trash collection resumes, it will be on a sliding schedule.

The mayor explained that other local businesses and schools should make individual decisions based on their needs.

The City of Muncie also announced it would operate on a 2-hour delay Wednesday.
