INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — It’s the opening weekend for “Avengers: Endgame,” and fans were out in force Thursday night for the opening after several Indianapolis theater, including the IMAX Theatre at Indiana State Museum.

People of all ages and wardrobes showed up at the downtown theater. One fan said he made his own Captain America cosplay costume. He told us the decadeslong wait for the movie has been well worth it.

Brayden Kruger asid, “It’s crazy. It means a lot. From since I was a little kid to growing up now. I’m about to graduate college. It’s coinciding with this release. It’s surreal really.”

Theater manger Brian Hammes said, “It’s exciting. It’s been a decade leading up to this. Everybody’s really excited. I think they can’t wait to see what happens.”

Showings through Saturday night are mostly sold-out. Tickets sold out shortly after they went on sale on April 2.

Theater officials said a few seats remain available for the rest of the weekend.
